If you consolidate student loans, what happens to the responsibility of the cosigner?

I am seeking in to consolidating my tyro loans. we have 2 apart cosigners upon a loans. If we consolidate, does which recover them of their shortcoming to a loan? Or have been they still trustworthy as cosigners?
